Team Member Spotlight: Jeny Shireman

💼 Business Systems & Rev Ops Lead

A great client experience often depends on systems clients never actually see. As DiversiFi’s Business Systems & Rev Ops Lead, Jeny focuses on building the behind-the-scenes infrastructure that connects people, processes, data, and technology so the team can work more efficiently and continue to scale.

Her expertise spans Salesforce system administration, business operations, and building systems that support how the firm works. At the center of it all is a desire to make things simpler.

“I’m someone who’s naturally curious and loves figuring out how things work, whether that’s people, technology, or the systems that connect them,” she says. “What really motivates me is solving problems, simplifying complexity, and building things that make people’s work easier.”

📖 Finding the Right Next Chapter

Outside of work, Jeny is a mom of two teens, a trained life coach, and someone who loves psychology, travel, and learning about new technology. That natural curiosity has been a constant throughout both her personal life and career.

Jeny came to DiversiFi during an unexpected transition after being laid off from her previous company. While considering what she wanted her next chapter to look like, an opportunity arose to help DiversiFi build its Salesforce platform from the ground up.

The chance to create something new immediately appealed to her. What started as a consulting opportunity became something more as she got to know the firm.

“As I got to know DiversiFi, I connected more and more with the people, the values, and what the company is building,” she says. “What started as a consulting opportunity ultimately became the right next chapter for me.”

⚙️ Making Technology Work Behind the Scenes

Although much of Jeny’s work happens internally, she sees a direct connection between strong business systems and the experience clients receive.

When systems are connected and data is reliable, employees spend less time searching for information, entering the same data in multiple places, or manually managing processes. That gives the team more time to focus on clients.

“My goal is to create an infrastructure where the technology works quietly in the background,” she says, “giving our team the information they need, reducing friction, and ultimately allowing us to deliver a more seamless and personalized client experience.”

That same philosophy guides her interest in emerging technology and artificial intelligence. Jeny enjoys experimenting with new tools, but she is careful not to adopt technology simply because it is new. Instead, she focuses on whether it solves a real problem and where it can create meaningful value.

🎯 Solving the Right Problem

Jeny is energized by what she calls “messy problems.” She enjoys taking something complicated or inefficient, figuring out what is actually causing the problem, and creating a solution that makes things simpler for everyone.

At DiversiFi, she has the opportunity to see that impact firsthand. She can speak directly with the people using the systems she builds, understand what is working and what is not, and continually improve from there.

Her philosophy is straightforward: start with the problem, not the technology.

“It can be tempting to build something just because a system is capable of doing it, but more complexity isn’t necessarily better,” she explains. “The best system isn’t the most sophisticated one, it’s the one people can actually use, and that solves the right problem.”

That approach also shapes how she collaborates. Jeny’s role often sits between leadership, business teams, and technology, which means listening to different perspectives and translating their needs into solutions that work across the firm.

“For me, good collaboration starts with listening,” she says. “I don’t want to assume I know how someone else does their job. I want to understand their experience, what’s frustrating them, and what they actually need.”

🏗️ Building a Foundation for Growth

One of Jeny’s proudest accomplishments so far has been helping build the foundation of DiversiFi’s Salesforce platform and successfully getting its initial launch across the finish line.

The project included creating a scalable approach to user management and migrating client records from the firm’s legacy system into Salesforce. Much of the work happened behind the scenes, which made seeing the platform successfully go live particularly rewarding.

“More importantly, it created a foundation we can continue building on as DiversiFi grows,” she says.

And there is plenty more she wants to build. Jeny sees opportunities to better connect systems, automate repetitive work, improve how the firm uses data, and make processes more scalable. She is particularly interested in how AI can move beyond automating individual tasks and help people make better decisions.

Still, the goal is not technology for technology’s sake.

“I’m excited about using it to make work easier for our team and ultimately create a better experience for our clients while still keeping the human connection that is so important in wealth management.”
